Studying the quality of residential environments is complex and multidimensional. The purpose of conducting this study is identifying the effect of environmental quality on sustainable housing. To reach this goal, the main question is, what is the relationship between the components of environmental quality and sustainable location in residential environments? As a result, the "conceptual model of improving the quality of the environment" based on components, such as demographic characteristics of residents, the ability of intermediate spaces and design quality and functional, experimental-aesthetic and environmental components of a sustainable place was developed. The research method is correlation, and data collection was done with a survey questionnaire. This case study was conducted in Vahdat Beton residential complex in Sadra new city with statistical random sampling and asking 215 residents. Correlation, path analysis, and fuzzy AHP tests were used to analyze the data. Results showed that there is a positive and significant correlation between the components of the conceptual model of quality improvement. The highest correlation between sustainable location and experimental-aesthetic component is at 0.880, and the lowest correlation between individual characteristics of residents and environmental components is at 0.312. Also, the quality of the environment has a direct effect on the sustainable location and the components of environmental quality, with the mediating role of quality having an indirect effect on the sustainable location. Also, the quality of the residential environment has an indirect effect on the components of the sustainable location, including functional, experimental-aesthetic and environmental, with the mediating role of the sustainable location. The ranking of the components also showed that the capability of intermediate spaces is the most important in the quality of the residential environment. |
