Investigation, identification and prioritization of wastes collected in metropolitan areas in order to manage them(Waste Management Organization of Karaj Municipality)

The aim of this study is to identify and prioritize the gathered wastes in Karaj in order to manage them. This study was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive in terms of data collection. Preliminary indicators were obtained using previous research and documents review and based on this, a researcher-made questionnaire was prepared and its validity and reliability were confirmed. The statistical population of the first part consisted of 142 experts in the Waste Management Organization of Karaj Municipality. The number of samples in this study was 104 using Cochran's formula.also 7 experts, who had at least a bachelor's degree and more than ten years managerial background in the field of recycling and municipal waste, were used for the prioritization section.Using confirmatory factor analysis and partial least squares method, the indices were screened and FAHP method was used for prioritization and the results showed that: among the six main categories of waste, the order of hospital, household and industrial waste management is of great importance. On the other hand, in the field of hospital waste management, three types of waste, namely genotoxic waste, pathological waste and sharp and sharp body waste are of great importance due to the threat to human health.
