Evaluating and Locating Urban Environment Using GIS and AHP Method (Case study: Gorgan)

The city is a natural community and has complex ecosystem from human activities. Urban environment is component of urban natural ecosystem. Research has shown that urban environment can provide physical and mental products, maintaining human activity and the health of citizens' body and mind. In this regard and due to the importance of environment in cities, in the present study, the aim was to investigate and locate environment in Gorgan city. In this study, the weight of each criterion was calculated using criteria such as distance from the river, away from medical centers, distance from commercial centers, and distance from the sports centers. Then, spatial data in GIS software have become the new layers of information. After that, in order to select the optimum location of urban environment for Gorgan, each criterion was weighted based on the value and its importance in locating environment in AHP and Fuzzy AHP methods to data layers. Finally, the weighted information layers has been presented based on any criteria provided in the form of maps that suggests the best location for the construction of urban environment for Gorgan city. |
